Ruan Kun

Ruan Kun is a Chinese curator and writer

Her research within the field concerns new media art, especially crypto art and its relationship to art ecology. She has published extensively on the topic in several art journals. In recent years she has curated exhibitions on themes of energy, landscapes, data, crypto, new infrastructure, and digital extractivism in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong. Currently she is expanding her research on the incorporation of new media art and crypto art within traditional arts and cultural spaces. Her curatorial research projects include The Legend of the Blue Trace (2022–2023); An Intransparent Game, Goethe Institut China, Beijing (2021); Photo Exhibition of Light and Shadow on the Qiantang River (2018); The rhythm of water, Contact Improvisation × The Museum of the Hangzhou Qiantang River, Hangzhou (2019); Exhibition of Old Photos of Qiantang River, The Museum of the Hangzhou Qiantang River (2017); and LIGHT NOW, Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre, Hong Kong (2016).
